We aren’t meant to go it alone

We all need help. We need someone who listens, understands and cares. This can come from friends or family. But sometimes a professional who can guide us to a better way of living and loving is the right step to take.

Common Needs

Each one of us is unique. Our personal experiences throughout life have brought us to where we are now. Below you will find a general list of needs that I regularly help my patients through. If you have any questions about anything, or don’t feel you fit into any of these, I still encourage you to contact me.

Improve Your Communication Skills

Learn how to actively listen to your partner or children and the best way to help them listen to you! Paul Tillich once said: “The first duty of love is to Listen.”

Deal with Substance Abuse, Depression or Anxiety Issues

Alcohol or drug addiction is a serious health matter. Getting help from your physician or from a treatment facility is critical. So is getting support from someone who will listen. Depression and anxiety interfere with the joy of life. There are many helpful ways to overcome that which keeps you from enjoying the life you have been given.

Find Comfort in Times of Loss

Those we have shared our life with are dear to us. When their life ends, it affects us deeply. We all deal with grief in our own ways. Taking this journey of grief with a counselor can help us get back on our feet.

Discover New Ways to Resolve Conflict

Many of us have learned unhelpful ways of dealing with stress. Learn to ‘respond’ rather than ‘react’ in a way that encourages the health of your relationship.

Gain meaning from Life Transitions

The one constant in life is change. Moving, divorce, empty nest, mid-life, job change, all take their toll. Learn ways to not only survive but thrive in this new time of your life.

Pre-Marital Counseling for Brides and Grooms

Engaged couples are well served with pre-marital counseling to learn what the strengths and growth areas of their relationship are so that their new life together is off to a great start.
